Top Words in English 2010

The Global Language Monitor has announced the top words, phrases and names of 2010, with 'spillcam' topping the US survey. 'Vuvuzela', 'snowmageddon', ‘climate change’ and '3D' were also in the top 10.

The top name was Hu Jintao, followed by iPad and Barack Obama.

Popular phrases included ‘Lady Gaga’ and ‘The Great Recession’.
