Pasta Culture Is A Worldwide Phenomenon

A global survey carried out by Oxfam has found that pasta is the world's most popular dish. Normally stereotypically associated with Italy, it has been found that countries such as Venezuela, Switzerland and Tunisia are some of the top five consumers of pasta in the world. Other surprise countries found to be partial to pasta include Brazil, South Africa and the Philippines.

In the UK, spaghetti bolognese is still one of the most popular dishes served at meal times. But it seems that pasta has crossed so many countries and cultures and is a global staple seen throughout history and passed different generations.

Unsurprisingly, Italy is currently the largest pasta producer with the US, Brazil, Russia and Switzerland placed after Italy as world pasta producers.
