'Japanglish' Is A Legitimate Language

Marshall Childs, an American academic in Japan, has said that Japanese English or "Japanglish" has as much claim to legitimacy as the English spoken in, for example, India, Jamaica and the Philippines.

He tells his Japanese students that they should ignore the "snobbery" of British and American English and speak the language in a way that suits them, even if that means breaking grammar rules, changing pronunciation and sentence structure.
