Tony Blair Speaks…French

Did you know that Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the UK and current Middle East envoy (as well as million dollar political speaker they say), speaks fluent French?

He is certainly a self-confessed francophile. He has spoken French at international meetings from time to time and has been interviewed on French TV in French.

His piece de resistance was congratulating Mr Sarkozy on his Presidential Election via YouTube in French in 2007. It certainly charmed President Sarkozy, who has actively promoted Mr Blair.

Mr Blair says it is easier to build relationships with the key people in Europe because he can speak to them in French rather than English.
