Foreign Language Proficiency Pays - Official!

Did you know that the US Airforce is offering its foreign language proficiency bonus to all its airmen, not just those in jobs that require them to speak a foreign language?

The monthly amount they receive depends on the language and proficiency level. The most popular languages being learnt are French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, but a growing number of airmen are learning Chinese, Arabic and Pashto, one of the official languages of Afghanistan.

And to make sure they maintain their language skills, airmen must pass the test every year to keep receiving the bonus. That's an incentive to keep learning!
