Fireworks For 4 July Independence Day USA
What does the 4th of July mean to you? The 4th July is Independence Day and one of the biggest national (or federal) holidays in the United States of America. It marks an important date in the American calendar, as it commemorates the declaration of independence from British Rule in 1776..
Legal separation between the American colonies and Great Britain actually happened during the American Revolution on the 2 July 1776. After voting for independence, the Second Continental Congress voted for a Declaration of Independence which was debated and revised several times before being approved on the 4 July 1776. The original 13 states who gained independence from the British in 1776 were a small fraction of what is now the USA. The vast majority of what is currently the United States was ruled by France and Spain (with a small area of unclaimed territory in the northwest) and these regions did not obtain independence with the defeat of the British.
July 4th is actually the celebration of the birth of a nation (the coming together of the 13 independent colonies to create one unified central government which would oversee the 13 different states instead of 13 separate governments), more than just independence from the UK. However, if you asked the average American they would say July 4th is to celebrate our independence from Britain.
July 4th is a day filled with festivities, patriotism, and a sense of national identity sharing time with friends and family. It is a time for millions of Americans to come together, celebrate their history and heritage, and express their love for the United States. It is also a time for reflection and appreciation of the freedoms and liberties that exist in the US.
One of the highlights of Independence Day is the spectacular fireworks shows held in cities and towns throughout the country. These dazzling displays light up the night sky, captivating audiences with their vibrant colors and patterns. Many communities organize parades to celebrate July 4th. These parades often feature marching bands, floats, and participants dressed in patriotic attire. Independence Day is a popular time for family and friends to gather for picnics, barbecues, and outdoor activities. Backyard cookouts with grilled burgers, hot dogs, and traditional American fare are a common sight. It is a time for relaxation and enjoying the company of loved ones. Americans decorate their homes, streets, and public spaces with patriotic symbols such as American flags, banners, and red, white, and blue decorations. The festive atmosphere is a visual representation of national pride and unity. Many communities organize special events and festivals on July 4th. These events often include live music performances, games, contests, and food vendors. It brings people together to celebrate the nation's history and achievements.
Time changes things and today there is an enduring bond between the USA and Britain, fostering progress and prosperity with a deep-rooted respect and appreciation for each other's values and contributions. The two countries are tied together culturally, linguistically, politically and economically - the value of trade in 2019 now makes Britain, its adversary in 1776, the USA's seventh largest trading partner.
