Yes folks … it’s that time again! On 16th May 2009, Russia plays host to the 54th Eurovision Song Contest. The contest involves singers from 42 countries, across three days and is watched by over 100 million people around the world. It is a truly mammoth event which brings together virtually all of the countries of Europe in this linguistic and cultural competition. Read more

This Friday 1st May is May Day. There are many traditional May Day celebrations around the world. The first day of May is observed in Canada, United States and in some parts of Western Europe as a celebration of the coming of spring.
