"Having completed a degree in French and German, I was keen to use them at work. I soon discovered the only way ... would be to move abroad. I feel it's unfortunate that many able linguists are forced to seek work outside the UK as language skills are not valued there. It would have been nice to have the option to stay in the UK and use languages at a high level - these two shouldn't be mutually exclusive."
