European Day of Languages
What is the European Day of Languages?
The European Day of Languages is on the 26th of September every year. Over 800 million people across 47 countries in Europe are encouraged to learn languages and to take part in activities to celebrate linguistic diversity and the benefits of being able to speak another language. Many people – young and old – are encouraged to take up a language, or take special pride in their existing language skills.
Those responsible for providing access to language learning are encouraged to make it easier for people to learn a range of languages, and to support policy initiatives to promote languages.

She wanted to refresh her Spanish language skills whilst she was travelling around Latin America.
She loved her time at the school in Córdoba and thought that the don Quijote language school ‘was the best’ out of all of the Spanish language schools that she has tried in the past.

With parties in many zocalos or main squares around Mexico on the 15th September and then parades on the 16th September, it is truly a large fiesta for the country.
